Wishing You Joy // A Bridal Shower Card

Wishing You JoyWedding season is fast approaching, so today I’m sharing a recent bridal shower card.

SSS Wishing You Joy CardSince I don’t yet have any wedding- or bridal shower-specific stamps in my stash, I used all kinds of items that I already had to create something delicate and pretty – appropriate for a bridal shower. The card’s got a lot going on – dry embossed roses on the paper (using an embossing folder), a strip of black ribbon, enamel dots, a die cut sentiment, washi tape, vellum, a wood veneer heart, sequins. All kinds of stuff.

Midweek Manicure // Textures & Shapes

Enjoying a day off today due to winter storm Nika, which now has Dennis hell-bent on getting himself a snowblower since we’re expecting even more snow this weekend. Meanwhile, I’ve been spending some time thinking up nail-art ideas, and wanted to share with you two recent manicures.

OPI Vesper Liquid SandFirst is a liquid sand polish by OPI called Vesper. I found it in a discount bin at Ulta and have decided it’s my favorite of their liquid sands. I love the color and finish. It’s hard to photograph, but hopefully this photo does it a bit of justice.

Secondly is this simple and quick Valentine’s Day themed mani, featuring simple little hearts at the end of each nail.

SImple Hearts

After a base coat, I used China Glaze Passion for Petals to create little heart shapes by painting on two swipes of polish at downward and intersecting angles. Top coat and done!

Now back out to do some more shoveling – the more I shovel, the less we need a snowblower, right?

Midweek Manicure // Valentine’s Day Nails x2

This week I have two different Valentine’s Day themed mani’s to share.

First is this pink white and red mani that is a sort-of simple twist on a french tip manicure.

Colors used:

V-Day Mani Steps

Next, I tried this cute heart-print mani:

Heart-Print Mani

I used Diva Bride as a basecoat for this mani too, and then used my dotting tool to paint on two dots close to eachother, then dragged the tool down to make a heart shape using Orly Swizzle Stick.

Hope everyone has a happy Valentine’s Day! What will you be wearing on your nails?
