Midweek Manicure // Mummies for Halloween

I was so excited. Finally a midweek manicure and it could be Halloween themed! Then, the design didn’t really come out as nicely as I had planned. But, I’m just going to grin and bear it…

Mummy Halloween Nails

I used:

  • Base Coat – any old base coat will do
  • Essie Licorice for the solid black painted nails
  • Milani White striper polish for the Mummy fingers
  • Milani Black striper polish for the mummy eyes
  • Top Coat – any old top coat will do

Halloween Nails

After painting the solid black nails, I used the white striper polish to paint lines diagonally and horizontally across each nail that I’d decided was going to be a mummy, making sure to leave a little gap wherever I’d decided i wanted to paint in little eyes peeking out. Then, I used the black striper polish to make little black dots for the eyes, then once that dried, I put a smaller white dot inside the larger black dot. After it all dried I finished it off with a top coat.

I hope everyone has a happy Halloween!

Midweek Manicure // Halloween Nail Art

Here’s what I’m wearing on my nails for Halloween this year:

Skeleton Halloween Mani

The black is China Glaze Liquid Leather, and I painted a Jack Skellington inspired skelton head on each ring finger with some white and black striper polish.

And just for fun, here’s a photo from the archives of last year’s Halloween mani:

Candy Corn Halloween Manicure

I striped on the candy corn colors, and then used my Bundle Monster nail stamping kit to stamp on the witches!

So, is anyone going out for  Halloween tonight? Did you already celebrate lastweekend? We were expecting trick-or-treaters tonight, but the event has been postponed until Friday because of Hurricane Sandy.  D and I went to a Halloween party a few weekends ago and it was tons of fun. This year I dressed up as a retro housewife (I guess?). I basically just focused on hair and makeup and used a bunch of stuff I already had for my costume, including my cute polka dot dress. Then I proceeded to take a bunch of instagram photos :)

Happy Halloween!

The best thing about holidays is the FOOD, and Halloween food is just so much fun.

1.// Cake Ball Brains Oozing Cherry Blood. 2.// Shrunken Heads in Cider. 3.// Ghostly Chocolate Dipped Pretzels. 4.// Spooky Ghost Pizza.

I’d love to make each of these cute Halloween treats! Not to mention the pumpkin pie, cupcakes with candy corn on top, and mini snickers bars…yum!
