Midweek Manicure – Stars and…Dots!

Happy Independence Day! I’m looking forward to a day full of parades, cookouts and fireworks! Here’s a Stars and Stripes inspired midweek manicure:

Independence Day Stars and Dots Mani

I painted Orly’s Red Flare on each nail except my ring finger and thumb. On those fingers, I painted white starts and then filled in some of the empty space with blue polka dots using China Glaze First Mate. I topped it off with Essie No Chips Ahead which I’m trying out for the very first time. So far, so good!

Happy 4th!

That’s Leah! And these are her nails:
Union Jack Nails
After Zoya Anchor Base Coat, I used China Glaze First Mate for the blue base, then painted the red cross using Orly Red Flare. After that dried, I used a generic (no name) white striper polish to outline the cross and create the union jack look. Topped it off with Zoya Armor Top Coat.
I was nervous at first to do nail art on someone else but Leah was a perfect first “victim.” I ended up not really being nervous at all, had a great time chatting away and painting (and sipping delicious wine), and am really happy with the finished product! Thanks for the experience, Leah!
