Midweek Manicure // Christmas Sweater Inspiration

You know those sweaters you find at the Good Will store that are perfect for an ugly sweater party? Well, those and some Pinterest searching are what inspired this week’s manicure. :)

Christmas Sweater Nails

I used Essie Butler Please as a base color (I’m not normally big on blue polishes, but I really love this blue from their Winter 2012 collection), then used a white striper polish to paint on different sweater-inspired motifs. A different one for each finger. I used a dotting tool for the polka-dotted nails.

Midweek Manicure // Paint Splattered Nails

I’m really excited to share this week’s manicure with you guys! Paint splatter!

Paint Splatter Mani

This one was a little more involved, and called for a lot of clean up, but it was totally worth it, I love the effect. To re-create it all you need is your choice of polish colors (I used two different blues on top of a neutral base), a drinking straw, nail polish remover and a nail brush to remove the spattered polish that gets on your fingers and not your nail.

Paint your base color, then dip your straw in the polish and blow through the opposite end to splatter the polish onto your nail. Then just clean up the edges with your polish remover and brush, and voila!

What do you think? Is this something you would try? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Painting!
