A New Card for a New Baby

Hi all! Just stopping in today to share a recent card. After what has been a loooong while, I  got back into my craft room twice in the last month! That’s a total win for me.

Baby Ezra card

Most recently I made a card for a friend who has a brand new baby at home, named Ezra. It’s just a simple watercolor background with Neat & Tangled Journaling Alphas on the front to spell Ezra’s name. The hello sentiment is cut from a stamp in another set I had lying around.

Clean and simple. Short and sweet.

I hope your week is off to a good start!

Baby Boy Congrats Card

Are you doing the November Daily Marker 30 Day challenge? I’ve been trying my hardest to keep up! My goal is to color and post something to my Instagram feed every day this month which will be a feat. I wasn’t able to do something every single day for the previous challenges, but I have high hopes for this one! In keeping up with the challenge, I almost forgot to post this congratulations card I made a few weeks ago!

Baby boy cardTO start off this card, I stamped the rattle image from  the Tim Holtz Baby Blueprint set onto a large tag die. I also heat embossed the edges of the tag using Versamark ink and some liquid platinum embossing powder.

Baby boy cardI also threaded some twine through the hole in the tag and tied little knots at the end to give the string a bit more interest. Then I set the finished tag aside and got to work on the card base.
Baby boy cardTo make a quick and easy background that was still visually interesting, I found several rolls of washi tape that went well together and just stuck strips of each tape down onto the card. I made sure all of the colors and patterns would work well for a baby boy card. This is a really quick and simple way to add pop to an otherwise simple card and I really love washi tape, I don’t know why I don’t use it more often! Baby boy cardI stamped the congrats! sentiment from the Altenew Label Love stamp set, added some fun foam to the back of the sentiment strip and the tag, and mounted both onto the card base.Baby boy cardNow we wait for the little one to arrive!

Neat + Tangled Journaling Alphas // A custom newborn card

A coworker of mine gave birth to a beautiful baby boy a few weeks ago. A little peanut with a full head of hair, he is seriously so cute!

Welcome Baby Francis - Neat & Tangled Journaling Alphas

I was asked to make this custom card, inspired by this one, for people at work to sign to welcome little baby Francis.

I used Neat & Tangled Journaling Alpha dies which I LOVE. I inked up the bottom half of each letter with some Versamark ink and then added some Liquid Platinum embossing powder over the ink and heat embossed the letters. I also cut the same letters from fun foam and mounted my heat embossed letters on top, to give a bit of dimension. I stamped the rest of the sentiment in SSS Intense black ink using the Simon Says Stamp Celebrate stamp set.

I also die cut the panel using the a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. Before I adhered the panel to my card base, I added some patterned paper (from a Studio Calico kit I purchased ages ago) to the card base. I also piped a bead of Liquid Pearls in the color onyx around the outer edge of the sentiment panel, to separate it from the patterned paper a bit.

The card needed a bit of something else, so I added a few copper-colored chip board (I think?) stars to finish it off.

I hope Francis liked his card!
