Here we are for the second Mother’s Day card post of the week! Today, I’m sharing a card that is basically a re-make of a thank you card I made not too long ago.
To read more about the technique for this kind of card, check out that post. Suffice it to say here, though, that I just stamped out a pattern using Intense Black Ink using several images from the Hello Sunshine stamp set. I then mixed up some red and white watercolor paints to make a pink-ish tone, that I painted all over the watercolor paper panel, in several layers. I ended up re-outlining each image with a black multiliner pen after the panel was dry.
For the sentiment, I cut some M’s and O’s using Neat & Tangled’s Journaling Alphas. I’m so in love with those! I then used a sentiment from the Hello Sunshine set again, which I just stamped in black onto a strip of white paper. First, I tucked a piece of vellum behind my white sentiment strip, and then attached that to my card with a tiny staple. I then stacked up several M’s and O’s for dimension, and adhered “MOM” with some Multi Medium Matte glue.
Some baby pink sequins as a final touch, and this card was finished! I think if I were to re-create this card, I might stamp the flowers in a lighter color – maybe a brown or a darker pink shade – to add a bit more softness to the card. What do you think?
