Another set of thank you cards! These were quick and easy (my favorite kind of thank you card) and required a minimal amount of supplies.
I started by painting simple watercolor washes over several 3 1/2″ x 4 7/8″ panels of watercolor paper. Once each panel was dry, I cut them down slightly smaller and then added a big bold sentiment on each using the Mama Elephant Merci stamp set. I stamped the sentiments using VersaFine Onyx black ink. Lastly, I mounted each panel onto a 4bar-sized card base. No frills, but these cards still pack a punch!
Thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend (I’m hoping the snow that’s headed this way doesn’t pile up too much – fingers crossed)!
These cards are so simple, yet so eye-catching. I really enjoy all your cards. Your backgrounds are always amazing. What kind of watercolors and paper did you use for these? I think I need some good watercolor supplies to get more vibrant colors. Thanks in advance.
Thanks so much, Robin! I use Canson cold press water color paper and I used distress inks for this particular project. Distress inks are a lot of fun because of their water reactive properties and because they are really vibrant. I also love Gansai Tambi watercolors which are nice and bright and creamy!
Thanks for sharing. I’m surprised that these are distressed inks, mine never come out this vibrant. Maybe I’m adding too much water? I will continue to experiment and I’ll give the Gansai Tambi watercolors a try too. I would love to see a video of your process, because your backgrounds are the best. Thanks again!
