Wplus9’s doodle buds stamp set is one of my favorites (you may have noticed from this post or my instagram feed)! The images lend themselves so easily to cute, whimsical cards and they are perfect for creating floral scenes – without masking. If the stamped images intersect, it doesn’t really matter. In fact, the doodly (made that up) nature of the design means a little overlapping of the images is just fine.
For these cards, I just stamped and stamped several images in Intense Black ink onto watercolor paper until I was happy with the composition. I then used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to paint quick washes over each panel – one in this aqua/pool color (A2-sized) and the other in a burnt sienna or sepia tone (4-Bar sized).
After the panels had a chance to dry, I added a bit more color here and there to give some more contrast. After that all dried, I then stamped a sentiment with the same black ink.
I used a stitched rectangle die to add some interest on the teal card and on the sepia card I used a paper distresser to rough up the edges a bit, then I adhered both to card bases. Super simple, but still really special!
So nice!
Thanks, Melissa!
