I begrudgingly put on tights this morning.
I have to finally admit to myself that Fall is here, and the cooler temperatures are coming. But, I do love, love, love Autumn in New England. The trees are starting to turn and I’m enjoying the occasional hot chai latte in the morning (no pumpkin spice for me)! As much as I love the fall, it does make me a little sad that summer seemed so fleeting! But, now I can look forward to cooler temps, cozy fires, all my favorite fall colors, all the food I get to eat on Thanksgiving (!!), and fun stamp sets like the one I used to make this card!
The card I’m sharing today was made using the beautiful fall-themed Concord & 9th Lace Leaf stamp set and the Grateful Leaf die. I also used a SSS grid background stamp and some white embossing powder to create an emboss-resist background on the card. I painted over the embossing with several greenish-blue shades from my Gansai tambi watercolor set.
I cut the grateful sentiment from the die set out of both white cardstock and some fun foam, and layered them up to give the word some dimension. The word “feeling” I heat-embossed in white on some black cardstock, and I also stamped and die cut two small leaves in different shades of gray and attached those to the card as well. I finished everything off with some Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets.
Even though I’m sad to be officially transitioning to tights and heavy jackets, Fall is my favorite season. What about you? Are you sad to see summer go? Or, are you looking forward to scarves and hats?
Love love love the juxtaposition of loose watercolor wash and an ordered grid!
Me too!
This is stunning!
Thanks so much, Lorraine!
Gorgeous EB resist watercoloring, Kimberly. I love your colors, heat eb background stamp, watercoloring and embellishments. I LOVE Fall too :-)
Thank you, thank you! Fall is definitely the best time of year in my opinion!
