Coming at you today with a two quick cards. I stamped and stamped some images on some watercolor paper and then did quick washes over the top. No masking, no frills.
Once I’d stamped all of my balloons (using the SSS Birthday Bits stamp set) with Intense Black ink, I painted one quick watercolor wash, let it dry, and then darkened up some areas here and there with the same color of paint. I used my gansai tambi watercolors for this. It seems like I use nothing else lately! After everything dried a second time, I added a few splatters of paint on top with white paint. In the case of the blue/green colored card, I also added some very dark splatters with the same blue/green color I used for the overall wash.
When all that dried, I stamped my sentiment from the same set, using my mini misti tool to make sure it stamped evenly. I then cut the panel into a 4.25″x5.5″ size using a stitched rectangle die. I adhered the panels to card bases, and added some sequins here and there for a finishing touch.
Happy Monday, everyone!
So cute!
Gorgeous, just gorgeous! Found my way here from Simon Says Stamp’s blog. :)
Johanna, thanks so much! I’m happy you found me!
I also found you on the SSS blog. These are gorgeous! One of my favorite sets. Will be trying this technique. Thanks.
Thanks and welcome, Linda! I’d love to hear how you like the technique after you give it a try!
