Father’s Day Card

Popping in today to share a Father’s Day card I made for a friend. I mentioned in my last post that I’m obsessed with clear embossing on watercolored panels so here we go again!

Father's Day card

I used a Winnie & Walter Mini Scenery: Do You See What I See background stamp for the panel. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. I then added an orange-y watercolor wash over the top.

For the sentiment, I die cut “dad” from my set of Louie’s ABC dies . I created a custom sentiment by pairing it with “you’re the best” from a Wplus9 Hand Lettered Thanks stamp set, which I stamped onto a strip of black cardstock. I heat embossed that part of the sentiment with white embossing powder and gave the whole sentiment some dimension by adding fun foam underneath the letters and the black cardstock before gluing it all to the panel.

I then cut a piece of orange cardstock slightly bigger than my watercolor panel to mount the panel to before adhering everything to the card base. I decided the orange cardstock was a bit too bright and distracting, so I layered a piece of vellum on top of it to soften everything a bit.

Voila! Another quick card on a watercolored panel. I’m kind of obsessed with the look. I hope you don’t mind! :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
