Well, my husband and I bought a house! And just a few days after closing on our house, my husband’s mother passed away rather suddenly. Needless to say, we have a lot going on at the moment, and I”m not sure I”m ready to blog about much of it yet, but I do plan to share some info on our house projects soon!
Today, (perhaps ironically), I want to share this card. It’s a sympathy card that I made for a friend a few months ago using the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set, some vellum and my trusty sewing machine! I stamped and heat embossed the sending sentiment on a piece of vellum that I had cut to fit over he 4.24″ X 5″ card base. I then stamped envelopes in various colors on the card base, die cut some hearts (I used washi tape on card stock in colors that coordinated with the inks I used), and assembled the shaker by sewing the vellum panel onto the card base.
It’s always hard to lose a loved one. I hope this bright and cheery card helped to ease some of my friend’s pain.
