It’s finally Friday! Glad we all made it though another week. I’ve been testing out some lighting and settings on my camera lately, and I’m still trying to come up with the best set-up so that I can start getting some of my cards properly photographed (especially when the winter doldrums have arrived and the sun always seems to be in hiding). I’ve found some great blog posts at Lime Doodle Design about cards and lighting and am going to try to incorporate some of those great tips into my photo-taking adventures. I’d say these are a tad overexposed, and noisy, but everything is a work in progress! and I’d be happy to hear some other photography tips if anyone wants to share.
Anyway, I thought I’d share some photos of a card I put together recently, using some die cut feathers that I’d had lying around for a while.Months ago, I took a large sheet of watercolor paper, washed with color and splattered here and there, and then die cut some pointed feathers from them. Once I had everything cut out, I couldn’t figure out how I wanted to put everything together, so I set them aside for a bit. Coming back to them weeks later, I decided they’d just look nice lined across a simple card with a small sentiment.
I used the Wishing and Sending stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment, and placed some Moonshine sequins on the panel, and mounted it onto a sheet of pattered paper from Lawn Fawn. Then I mounted everything onto an A2 size card base and called it a day.
Wishing you happiness and a wonderful weekend!
