I really need to learn to double check where my SD card is before I start taking photographs. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought I’ve taken good photos only to realize a day later that I’d never put my card back in the camera. Someday I’ll learn…maybe. So since I’m dumb sometimes, here are some not-so-great photos of a several days old manicure that I spent a lot of time on….
This design is totally not my own, as I saw it on Pinterest and decided to recreate it.
- Orly Luxe (gold for dots and lines)
- Essie She’s Pampered (red on each ring finger)
- China Glaze White on White
- dotting tool
- red, green and white/clear rhinestones
After a base coat, I painted each nail – every nail but my ring fingers were painted white, the ring fingers red – I only painted about 3/4 of each nail, leaving a half moon shape at the nail bed. Then, I used a toothpick to draw a line between the painted and non-painted parts of my nail, in a half moon shape using Orly Luxe. Then, I used my dotting tool to place some polka dots on the painted part of each nail.
After all of that was dry, I placed one red, one green and one clear rhinestone on each nail along the gold stripe I’d painted. I used rhinestones of different shapes and sizes and used a dot of topcoat to affix each stone to the nail. Two coats of topcoat over it all and I was finished.
Now, I’m going to go work on my memory skills, hopefully next time I take some photos I’ll remember to put the SD card in my camera!
