Word Art for your Walls

I’m back! Finally I have a laptop, although still don’t have all of the photos that I lost with my other laptop, but a laptop nonetheless, and a brand new one at that. So today I bring you: DIY Kitchen Wall Art!

DIY Kitchen Wall Art

We have this little “nook” in the kitchen that is incredibly hard to decorate or store anything in. As in: the windows on that wall are really high and small and there’s this jog-out at waist level in the wall (you can sort of see it in the above picture). The reason for all this weirdness is because this wall of the house used to be in the bathroom. But now it’s not, and I have to try to make it look nice. I decided this wall art would be a good start! I bought letters at the craft store to spell the word “DELISH” and got to working on painting them and giving them this crackle effect.

Wood Block Letters

The letters I bought were originally white, but I painted them black (with adcrylic paint) and then used Martha Stewart Weather Crackle Effect and a coat of white paint to achieve the final look.

I hung them on the wall with command strips, and fingers crossed they’ll stay. I liked that this project was a quick and easy way to make a statement on a boring wall. Now to sew some curtains for the windows!

It’s good to be back! :)
