Let’s have an Olympic Party!

The Summer Olympics in London begin tonight and I have to say I’m pretty excited! I’ve always loved watching all of the events, although when I was little my two stand-out favorites to watch were rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming. Is there a theme there? Probably. I even used to practice synchronized swimming routines in my Aunt and Uncle’s pool when I was a wee one. I was a weird child. Is synchronized swimming even an Olympic sport anymore? Are there still rhythmic gymnastics? I might have to do me some research. I’ll be kind of disappointed if they’re not, but I still look forward to seeing all of the sporting events, especially the ones that don’t get much attention in non-Olympic years.

Union Jack Nails

I wish I had found the time this week to paint this mani on my own nails to celebrate the occasion. But it’s not too late! Or maybe even some American Flag nails to show some USA Olympic pride.

Is anyone having an Olympics viewing party? I think gathering around the TV to watch the opening ceremony sounds like a fun idea. And oh, the theme party possibilities!

I think my party will be just a party of 2 – D and I on the couch. But we will be watching! If anyone else is having an Olympic party I hope you enjoy the start of the games!

GO USA! :)
